Birdie Buddy
Privacy Policy
Last updated August 20, 2026
Birdie Buddy (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a Canadian small business based in Ontario. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information when you use our website and golf stats application (the “Service”). We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, Ontario’s privacy rules.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: email address and a hashed password.
- Golf data: rounds, courses, holes, shots, strokes-gained stats, and round mindset notes you enter.
- Scorecard photos: images you upload so we can parse shots. We use them only to provide that feature.
- Billing data: subscription status and Stripe customer/subscription IDs. Card details are collected by Stripe, not stored by us.
- Technical data: logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, used to operate and secure the Service.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Create and authenticate your account
- Provide round tracking, statistics, and scorecard import
- Process subscriptions, trials, and cancellations through Stripe
- Send transactional email (verification, password reset)
- Maintain, debug, and protect the Service
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Service providers
We share information with vendors who help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of the data:
- Stripe, for payments and subscription management
- Hosting and database providers (including Vercel and our database host)
- Email delivery (Resend in production)
- AI processing providers, only when you upload a scorecard photo to extract shot data
Some providers may process data outside Canada. We use them because they are needed to operate the Service and we take reasonable steps to protect the information.
4. Retention
We keep account and round data while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personal information unless we must keep it for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution reasons. Stripe may retain billing records under its own policies.
5. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information, including hashed passwords and encrypted connections. No internet service is completely secure.
6. Your rights
Subject to Canadian privacy law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or withdraw consent where we rely on it. Contact hello@birdiebuddy.app. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy commissioner.
7. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes
We may update this policy and will post the revised version here with a new “Last updated” date.
